With Father’s Day just around the corner, you would think that a bead shop would not be the place you’d go to find a gift idea. How wrong that thought is! We have a number of things that may suit your Dad, some readymade and others that you, or your children, can do yourself.

DIY projects include bookmarks for the Dad who likes to read, keyrings, fridge magnets that you put a photo on, and even jewellery. If you are looking for a gift for the Dad who likes a glass or two of wine, we have gorgeous wine stoppers with dichroic glass, hand made by Bron. I have been experimenting with my kiln and have made one of a kind glass platters out of wine bottles (not all mine!!). These look very cool as a decoration, and can be used as a cheeseboard or snack tray. Each one turns out differently, and priced from only $12, they are a real bargain.

So come on in to the store, have a great browse around and get a gift for the Father in you life!

Mainly Metal

How to use up your metal stash!!

Here is a great opportunity to use up all the metal bits and pieces in your stash! This necklace is almost completely made from joining components together with jumprings, and then attaching chain to the back to fit. We’ve added a few leftover bits of chain and the odd charm to add to the style, and finished it off with a toggle that does up at the side rather than the back.

I’ve used a two different types of chain, Swarovski crystals, elastic, crimps, jump rings and charms to make this necklace. It looks heavy, but isn’t making it surprisingly easy to wear. I’m more than happy to help you create one just like it – see you instore soon!!Free As A Bird

Have a look at the gorgeous new pendants and charms that have just arrived! I have managed to find owls, bird cages, giant keys and dragonflies as well as more unusual shapes.
Do you like chandelier earrings? We have a chandelier (light fitting one!) charm as well! Best of all they start in price at $1.50 (regular charm price) and go to only $8.00 for the biggest pieces. Steampunk jewellery is about to get popular in a big way and these pieces fit right on in.
As these are a special purchase, there is no guarantee that I will be able to get morel, so first in best choice!!

Make in Minutes - Low Fat Cupcakes!!Welcome to my first Inspirations entry!

If you’re looking for something quick, cute and quirky, then go no further that these adorable cupcake earrings.  They are made using an acrylic flower, 8mm glass pearl, tiny bead cap, red seed bead, headpin and earwire (we have all of these instore in a range of colours).

I have cupcakes on the brain at the moment – something to do with a certain high tea celebration I’m holding soon (40? who’s turning 40?) so these can hang from my ears as well!

Just like any good recipe book, there are plenty of variations – post your own picture if you make some!!
